Located on the fork from which it takes its name, in the heart of the National Park of the Sibillini Mountains (5.098ft), the Fargnos’ refuge is a favorite destination for hikers, bikers, motorcyclists, and all mountain lovers in general. The breathtaking view, which gives a broad look at the crests of Pizzo Berro, Forca Cervara, Val di Panico, and the impressive north face of Monte Bove, is the gift that awaits those who choose the refuge as a point of arrival starting from bottom of the valley, or as a starting point for wonderful excursions to Pizzo Berro (2.260m), Pizzo Tre Vescovi (2.092m) or Monte Priora (or Pizzo della Regina, 2332 m). From these heights, the view sweeps between the peaks of Monte Vettore, the Monte Rotondo and, during a cleary day, you can admire the majesty of the mountains of Abruzzo Gran Sasso and Majella, and also the Adriatic Sea. Part of the territory surrounding the refuge, beaten by strong winds that characterize the climate in most of the year, have returned to live the Apennine chamois, eagles and wolves.
